In 2018, after 22 years of hosting a conference specifically for our Youth Volunteers, a decision was made to set a new stage for supporting this program. The Council on Volunteer Services Georgia Healthcare believed the best approach was to invest additional funds and increase the number of scholarships possible to be awarded throughout the state. Hospitals and their Volunteer Services organizations that have and support a Youth Volunteer program make contributions to support this scholarship each year. These funds allow for students who have participated in the Youth Program to receive these scholarships when they have been accepted into a technical college, a state college or university in Georgia. Youth Volunteers make a significant difference in the lives of the people in the communities in which they serve. The Council on Volunteer Services Georgia Healthcare would like to express their thanks and support of these youth with this scholarship fund.
Additional funds are always needed and appreciated. Checks may be sent to the Council President or Treasurer.
Application forms will be reviewed by the Cory Scholarship Committee. Personal history, financial need, and acceptance by a Georgia school will be essential to apply.
The amount of the fund to be awarded to the student for tuition and fees will be determined by the Scholarship Committee. Checks will be issued to the institution, not to the individual.
Deadline for receiving the applications is April 10. Selections for the scholarships will be made at the Board of Management Meeting in April.
